Hooks for Comedy & Entertainment Creators
Hooks for comedy and entertainment creators — pranks, fails, reactions and animals being funnier than people.
Comedy hooks have the hardest job: the joke has to start before the viewer knows it is a joke. These references lean on surprise setups, reaction faces, mascot chaos and situations that are visibly about to escalate.
Study the first frames here and a pattern emerges: comedy hooks almost never open on the joke itself. They open on a normal scene with one wrong detail — a mascot in a car, a groom about to cry, a table set up for sliding across. The wrong detail buys the two seconds in which the joke can arrive. When you shoot, stage the wrong detail first and the punchline second.

How to use these hooks
- The setup should look ordinary; only the second frame should be strange.
- Reaction shots are reusable across every niche — save the best faces.
